Our 6-12th grade students will be heading back down to Detroit this summer to continue our partnership with Central Detroit Christian. We’ll be helping to facilitate a day camp, participating in projects around the neighborhood, and loving our neighbors

What does the week look like?

We have developed a great relationship with Central Detroit Christian over the years and we are excited to partner again with them this summer to serve and love the city of Detroit. We will be running a day camp for kids in K-8th grade helping with reading, games, crafts, Bible stories, music, and lunch. It is a week of loving kids who are a ton of fun but have been through some tough experiences. We may also have a few people doing work projects with CDC – cleaning up and beautifying the neighborhood around CDC – but our main focus is working with the daycamp.

We will not be able to determine the final price until we lock in our housing costs. We are still pursuing housing options in the city, but we have the church/school here as a fallback plan if needed.

We have learned so much and have seen God do amazing things in the city and we want to continue to partner with what God is doing thru CDC in Detroit. We will be challenged and stretched, but desire to see students (and leaders) grow in their love for the children, families, and city of Detroit. Trip Requirements

• Be able to share your faith story with another person

• Active involvement at The Barn/Torrid

• Have a growing relationship with Jesus and can explain what that looks like

• Attend all meetings (inform Phil/Jordan if you have a conflict)

• Turn in your application on time by April 7

• Talk to Jordan/Phil if this is your 1st mission trip with us
