Good Friday Worship Service
The Last Words Of Jesus
Why?
On Good Friday, we remember the great act of love that was God’s judgement poured out on Jesus as the payment for our sins, and in response, we celebrate. We have a long-standing tradition at Calvary of gathering to honor the significance of this special day. Each year it looks a bit different, but the meaning is always the same.
When?
For Good Friday 2026, we will be holding a special worship service in the Auditorium on April 3 starting at 7pm. The service should last around 1 hour and the Auditorium will remain open after the service for anyone wishing to spend time in extended prayer or reflection..
What?
The focus of this year’s service will be the Last Words Of Jesus. The gospel books record seven different phrases spoken by Jesus as he hung on the cross. We will use these phrases to remind us of Christ’s suffering for us, concluding with his death and burial. The service will include a short charge from Pastor Dave, special music, readings, and group singing led by our worship team, and sharing in communion together.
Who?
All are welcome to attend Good Friday, whether you call Calvary your church home or might just be looking for a worship experience on Good Friday.
Childcare offerings for this service will be announced soon.
