Calvary Women is part of CBC's mission to help people follow Jesus together by giving women opportunities and tools to follow Jesus with other women. We have events and groups for women, as well as the center of Calvary Women--various Bible study classes known as Disciple U-Women (DUW). In DUW, our groups, and at our events, women can:

  • grow in knowledge, understanding and love for God;

  • build relationships with one another and the community and world around us;

  • and be challenged and equipped to live out His mission, all fueled by the unchanging Word of God.

    Thanks for stopping by and taking the time to find some information or get connected!

We believe women are:

Created in the image of God

Genesis 1:27 • So God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.

Psalm 139:13-16 • For You formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well. My frame was not hidden from you, when I was being made in secret, intricately woven in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed substance; in your book were written, every one of them, the days that were formed for me, when as yet there was none of them.

Given great worth by God

Matthew 10:29-31 •Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? And not one of them will fall to the ground apart from your Father. But even the hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not, therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows.

Romans 5:8 • But God shows His love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

Specifically,intentionally Created Feminine

Genesis 2:21-23 • So the Lord God cause a deep sleep to fall upon the man, and while he slept took one of his ribs and closed up its place with flesh. And the rib that the Lord God had taken from the man He made into a woman and brought her to the man. Then the man said, “This at last is bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.”

Called to be Helpers…

Genesis 2:18 • Then the Lord God said, “It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him a helper fit for him.”

1 Corinthians 11:3, 8-9 • But I want you to understand that the head of every man is Christ, the head of a wife is her husband, and the head of Christ is God. For man was not made from woman, but woman from man. Neither was man created for woman, but woman for man.

…Knowing strength, responsibility, and wisdom are required to do this well.

Exodus 15:13 • You have led in Your steadfast love the people whom You have redeemed; You have guided them by your strength to Your holy abode.

Job 12:13 • With God are wisdom and might; He has counsel and understanding.

Psalm 138:3 • on the day I called, you answered me; my strength of soul you increased.

Proverbs 31:25—Strength and dignity are her clothing, and she laughs at the time to come.

Ephesians 1:7-8 • In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of His grace, which He lavished upon us, in all wisdom and insight.

Made to Nurture

Genesis 3:20 • The man called his wife’s name Eve, because she was the mother of all living. Ephesians 4:32—Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.

Titus 2:4 • and so train the young women to love their husbands and children.

Called to be Self-Controlled
and Worthy of Respect

Galatians 5:22-24 • But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law. And those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.

Titus 2:5 • to be self-controlled, pure, working at home, kind, and submissive to their own husbands, that the word of God may not be reviled.

1 Timothy 2:9-10, 3:11 • likewise also that women should adorn themselves in respectable apparel, with modesty and self-control, not with braided hair and gold or pearls or costly attire, but with what is proper for women who profess godliness—with good works. Their wives likewise must be dignified, not slanderers, but sober-minded, faithful in all things.

1 Peter 3:3-4 • Do not let your adorning be external—the braiding of hair and the putting on of gold jewelry, or the clothing you wear—but let your adorning be the hidden person of the heart with the imperishable beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which in God’s sight is very precious.
