At Calvary, Volunteers are the heart and soul of our ministry. We have plenty of opportunities to serve – whether for a one-time event or on a routine basis – and we trust that you’ll be able to use your gifts and abilities to strengthen the body of Christ.

Immediate Volunteer Needs

Language Learning Drivers

Our Language Learning ministry offers ESL classes and language support to Afghan refugees living in the metro Detroit area as they acclimate to life in America. Classes meet during Wednesday Family Night, 6:30-8:00 p.m. weekly during the school year. Many of our students do not drive, so help is needed providing transportation to/from CBC. Calvary Kids Volunteers

Calvary Kids helps kids follow Jesus together by training the next generation to love God and love others. There are still several needs to help serve our kids this year:

Friday AM Kids Care (2 workers, twice a month during Moms Together)
Tuesday AM Kids Care (2 workers, weekly during Women’s Bible Study)
Wednesday PM Small Group Leader (1 male & 1 female, weekly on Wednesday Nights)

Volunteers who desire to work with Calvary Kids or Calvary Students must have attended Calvary for at least 6 months and have attended our Calvary Partnership Class. Please contact bobbielee@cbcjoy.org if you’re interested in our Partnership class.

We conduct background checks on all volunteers, 18 years or older, who are working with minors.

Leadership Teams/Boards require a nomination through our nominations process which occurs each winter.
