National Day Of Prayer

  • Calvary Baptist Church 43065 Joy Road Canton, MI, 48187 United States (map)

At Calvary, we strive to be people of passionate prayer: growing in our desire and commitment to seek God (individually and with others) and yield to His will (Luke 5:16, Ephesians 6:18-19, 1 Thessalonians 5:17). As we live into this calling, the Calvary family is invited to join with the American Church to participate in the National Day Of Prayer, Thursday, May 2, 2024.

The National Day Of Prayer, always the first Thursday in May, is a nationally recognized day designated for the people of the United States to turn to God in prayer and meditation in their churches and homes (find more info at nationaldayofprayer.org). This year, we at Calvary are joining thousands of American believers to pray for the 7 Centers of Influence in our country on and leading up to May 2. These 7 Centers of Influence are:

  • FAMILY

  • CHURCH

  • EDUCATION

  • BUSINESS

  • MEDIA

  • MILITARY

  • GOVERNMENT

As we look forward to May 2, we invite you to stop by our Prayer Board in the Lobby and pick up a Prayer Focus Sheet, which will provide details and Scripture-based prompts to help you pray for one of the 7 Centers of Influence. This will signify your commitment to pray for that Center on May 2, along with believers across the country (of course you can pray anytime as well).

On Wednesday, May 1, 6:30-8:00 p.m., all are invited to our Adult Bible Study & Prayer meeting, led by Dave Riddle, to spend time praying together for these 7 Centers of Influence. Our Calvary Kids and Students will also spend time in prayer during their evening activities that night. Then, on Thursday, May 2, we’ll spend time praying in our homes and workplaces for the needs we’ve selected from the Prayer Board.

Will you join in praying?
