At Calvary, Adult Bible Fellowship is typically the first step in making deeper connection with others in our church family. These classes meet during First Hour, which takes place from 9:30-10:30 on Sunday mornings, and are a chance to connect with others, build long-term relationships, and dive into Scripture together.
In our mission to help people follow Jesus together, ABF plays a key role. Not only do you receive the benefit of the community and the teaching and discussion at a more intimate level, but you also get to contribute to help benefit others as they grow as disciples of Christ. Sadly, only about 1/3 of adults who are regular attenders or partners at Calvary are involved in an ABF, and we’re hoping this year we can change that!
First Hour and ABF are returning September 7 and this year we’re going to do something a little bit differently this year. On September 7, we’re inviting everyone to come early. We’ll have some breakfast snacks and coffee available in the Lobby starting at 9am, so you can come and grab something to eat, and then at 9:30 we will all gather together in the Auditorium. At that point we’ll have a chance to introduce all of our ABF teachers to you. They’ll share a bit about their class and what they’ll be studying this year and we’ll take some time to pray for those teachers and the ministry of ABF. Afterward you’ll have a chance to go visit a class – whether it be a class you’ve attended for many years or maybe you’ll visit a class for the first time!
If you are at all interested in connecting with an ABF for the first time this year, you do not want to miss this day! If you already have an ABF class that you love, you ALSO do not want to miss this day! It will be a great time to celebrate and commission and connect with all that God is doing. We hope to see you there!
