FIRST HOUR SUMMER ELECTIVES

Each summer we take a break from our regular First Hour ministry offerings to give our volunteer teachers a well-deserved break. This summer we are offering two elective classes during the regular First Hour time (9:30-10:30 a.m.). While these classes are geared toward adults, kids and teens are welcome to attend and participate. There will be no childcare offerings (including nursery) during First Hour from June 21 through September 6.

Returning for the third year, Summer In The Psalms is a chance to explore the Psalms together. Each week will feature a different leader, who will lead us in exploring a different singular Psalm in their discretionary style - expository teaching, group discussion, and everything in between. There are no sign ups or special resources needed for Summer In The Psalms.

Summer In The Psalms will meet 9:30-10:30 a.m. in Room 302, running for the first 3 weeks and last 3 weeks of the summer season: June 21 - July 5, and then August 23 - September 6.

What if loving your neighbor became a natural part of everyday life? Our communities are longing for connection, hope, and genuine care. The Art Of Neighboring will be an interactive class led by various individuals/couples where we will practice the Great Commandment together—learning how to love God fully and love our neighbors with intentionality, compassion, and gospel-centered care. This class is designed to help us take practical steps toward knowing, serving, and blessing the people around us. Come learn, grow, and practice neighboring well together.

The Art Of Neighboring will meet 9:30-10:30 a.m. in Room 302 for 6 weeks: July 12 - August 16. There is no cost to participate, but we will be providing participants with copies of The Art Of Neighboring book as there is some midweek reading that will be encouraged. To help give us an idea of how many books to order, please sign up before July 5 using the form below if you’re interested in attending.
