    • Sent by the Father. God in the flesh.

    • “If you’ve seen me, you’ve seen the father”

Jesus Doubles Down

  • John 6:46-51

    • I am the bread of life.

    • Your ancestors ate the manna and died. I am the new and better version. Anyone who eats this bread will not die.

Reaction - Confusion

    • Wait, what did he just say?

    • machomai: to quarrel, wrangle, dispute or fight. A war of words.

    • Instead of backpedaling in the face of their confusion and anger he walks up to the line and crosses it.

  • John 6:54-58

    • Eat flesh/drink blood- this would have been outrageously scandalous for pious Jews to even consider.
