Update On September 27 Worship

Hello, Calvary Family:

Late last evening, we received notice that an individual from within Plymouth Christian Academy (PCA) had received a positive test result for COVID-19. That individual was present in the church building throughout last week, including Friday. The church and PCA leadership worked throughout the night and into the early morning hours, following Wayne County protocols for things like facility cleaning, as well as communication.

As we progressed through those protocols, initial efforts at contact tracing indicated interaction between school and the CBC church family. At that point, a decision was made that it would be best to cancel all in-person ministry activities until additional tracing could be completed and further direction from Wayne County Health and Community Services was received. The persons who were identified in the initial contact tracing have already been notified separately.

In light of all of this and as we shared in a brief message last night, ALL Calvary ministry activities scheduled for today, September 27, are cancelled. As you can certainly imagine, we were and are very disappointed to make these decisions, but this cancellation encompasses everything that was going to take place throughout the entire day, including our membership class and Student Ministries small groups. Given the nature of this situation, we additionally felt it would be unwise to bring staff and volunteers into the building today to facilitate an online livestream of our worship service, so that will not be occurring. You will receive further updates on weekday in-person ministry activities as the week progresses.

In closing, we’d like to thank you in advance for your ongoing prayer support relative to health of all those involved, and for God to provide wisdom and direction to the leadership at PCA and CBC throughout the week.
