Welcome!

Calvary Women is part of CBC's mission to help people follow Jesus together by giving women opportunities and tools to follow Jesus with other women. We have Bible study classes, events and groups for women. In our classes, groups, and at our events, women can:

  • grow in knowledge, understanding and love for God;

  • build relationships with one another and the community and world around us;

  • and be challenged and equipped to live out His mission, all fueled by the unchanging Word of God.

    Thanks for stopping by and taking the time to find some information or get connected!

June 2026 Prayer Focus

We made it to summer! We have tools to pray Psalm 145:17-18 with us and some Calvary Women Summer reminders!

Here are some ways you can dig into Psalm 145:17-18 to pray more specifically as we call on God in truth…

To call on God in truth means to approach Him in prayer and worship with sincerity, doctrinal fidelity, and alignment with His revealed nature and will. It is not about praying according to our own biases or desires, but about reflecting God’s character as revealed in Scripture and fulfilled in Jesus Christ

Core Elements

Authenticity – Coming before God without pretense, with a heart that is honest and wholehearted, like David’s “surely You desire truth in the inmost being” (Psalm 51:6).

Doctrinal fidelity – Shaping prayers in accordance with God’s self-revelation, not human imagination. This means praying in light of Scripture and the truth of the Gospel.

Covenant loyalty – Approaching God in faith and repentance, acknowledging sin, and trusting in Christ’s atonement.

Undivided devotion – Worshiping God in spirit and truth, free from idolatry or syncretism.

Biblical Basis

Psalm 145:18 – “The LORD is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth.” This verse emphasizes that God’s nearness is conditioned on genuine, truthful calling.

John 4:23-24 – Jesus says the Father seeks worshipers “in spirit and in truth,” aligning with Psalm 145:18’s requirement.

John 14:6 – Jesus declares, “I am the way, the truth, and the life,” underscoring that true calling requires recognizing Him as the source of salvation.

Practical Implications

Immerse in Scripture – Read and meditate on God’s Word to know His nature and will, so prayers are shaped by His truth.

Pray in alignment with God’s character – Avoid asking for things contrary to His revealed will; instead, pray for His purposes and character to be honored.

Humble and repentant approach – Acknowledge dependence on God, cast aside self-reliance, and come with a contrite heart.

And finally some Calvary Women Summer 2026 reminders! We have 3 opportunities for you to study and live out God’s Word—one in-depth Bible study on Amos and 2 book clubs. Here are all the details and registration information! For anyone who has already registered for the Amos study or would like to join us, Amos Inductive Study folders will be available in the lobby starting this coming Sunday (6/7) and we’ll also have handmade cards available starting Sunday, June 14 for anyone who would like to take one to send to someone you are praying for this summer!

Praying WITH you and FOR you,
