October 2026 Prayer Focus
We’re entering my very favorite month of the year. October’s weather and foliage delight my heart and remind me of the common grace God gives to all through His creation.
Last month I shared our Calvary Women focus for the ministry year asking you to join me to: Set your face, mind, and heart on Christ so that we will trust Him. OR because you trust Him, set your face, mind, and heart on Christ. There have been times throughout the last month that I had to choose to start with that trust. There have also been circumstances when I had to set my face, mind, and heart on Christ so that I would trust Him. I’m asking the Lord to continue to remind us—even now as I remind you—of our need for Him and this perspective.
I’m also asking you to pray with me in some specific ways this ministry year—specifically for different “families” in your life. Each month I’ll give an example of praying for either your immediate family, your extended family, your church family, or families in your neighborhood or workplace. There are times when you may see or be involved in an acute need in any one of those families and your prayer time will focus on that need. But I want to also challenge myself and you regularly ask the Lord, “Which of these “families” need You most today? How can I pray?”
For October, I’m challenging you to pray for God’s help to not show favoritism as you hold onto faith in Christ Jesus. Have you done that in your immediate family? Do you notice that in our church family? Do you see the effects of favoritism in your neighborhood or workplace? Let’s pray that we would display care and concern to whatever specific family God might lay on your heart.
